Tanzania requires most international tourists to obtain a visa. Ensure you understand the passport validity guidelines and entry procedures before travel.
Passport Validity
Your passport must be valid for at least **6 months** from your date of entry and have at least **2 blank pages** for visa stamps.
Visa Options
- **e-Visa:** The most recommended option. Apply online through the official Tanzania immigration portal at least 10 days before your trip.
- **Visa on Arrival:** Available to select nationalities at major ports of entry (including Julius Nyerere International Airport and Kilimanjaro International Airport).
- **Visa-Free:** Citizens of select African and Commonwealth nations do not require a tourist visa for stays up to 90 days.
